AVO RICE & CRUMBED CALAMARI

Make your rice look and taste delicious & healthy with this quick and unique recipe that will be a conversation starter at your table!



INGREDIENTS:

1x cup of any rice you prefer

1x Pieker Prepared Avocado Pocket

500g Calamari Strips

100g Maizena

Spices of your choice

1x medium-sized clean cup


METHOD:


For the Rice:

Boil or steam 1 cup of any rice of your choice, add 1/2 tsp of salt to the water.

Once cooked, drain the excess water and add to a mixing bowl.

Next, cut the corner of your favourite Pieker Prepared Avocado pocket and add to the rice.

Mix together to make sticky AVO RICE mix.

Now, add the AVO RICE mixture to the cup and press down slightly to make it stick.

Then, put a plate onto the top of your cup and flip over so that the plate is on your table. Gently tap the bottom of the cup with a wooden spoon so that the AVO RICE loosens from the cup.

Remove the cup & voila, you have a little green rice hill


For the Calamari:

Choose to grill or fry your calamari

To fry it, simply rinse the calamari strips once taken out of the packaging and drain.

In a bowl, mix together maizena and spices.

Now, take a hand full of calamari and add it into the maizena mix. Coat well and then fry it in hot oil for about 5mins.

Remove and drain on kitchen paper.

Plate up your calamari next to your AVO RICE hill, add a squeeze of fresh lemon. 🍋‍🟩
